Creating New Products in Shopify From Cycle Counts

When performing cycle counts, you may end up scanning items that don't exist in Shopify yet, and you can conveniently have StockSavvy create those items in Shopify when you update all quantities that you scanned. Here are the steps:

  1. Scan items in StockSavvy
  2. On step 2, there is a tab for "Nonexistent Items". These are items you scanned that are not in Shopify yet. You can click on the pencil icon in each column to set them to what you want, e.g. barcode, name, vendor, etc.

Alternatively, you could be entering these details in step 1 as you were scanning. Once you scan an item that isn't recognized, it'll populate as a row but be yellow. You can click the pencil icon to the left of the trash can icon, and that allows you to edit the different fields like name, vendor, etc.
  3. On step 2 once you're done setting all the fields for the new items, check the box for "Create nonexistent items on Shopify", and when you click the "Update Shopify" button, it will update all the item quantities from the "Scanned" tab and also create new items you have in the "Nonexistent" tab.

The new items will be created in Shopify. Note that if you want them to be enabled for another location or published to a particular channel, you will need to do that in Shopify.
